1. What does Diversity and Inclusion mean to you?
At Evoenergy we have a diverse workforce with people from many backgrounds and different stages of their life. A workplace that is understanding of all personal circumstances and that a standard ‘business day’ does not fit with everyone, all the time, and works with you to encourage personal growth has been one of the many benefits of being employed at Evoenergy.
2. What is your current flexible working arrangement?
As is normal with a lot of young families, I also need to care for my 2 small children. My personal circumstances require me to look after them on alternate Mondays. To do this, I work a 9 day fortnight, working every second Monday. I have increased my daily nominal hours to spread 10 days evenly over 9. Instead of the normal 8:30 – 4:51 10 days a fortnight, I work 8:30 – 5:40 9 days a fortnight while maintaining a 1 hour lunch break.
3. How has Evoenergy supported you in this arrangement?
At Evoenergy, I am responsible for the management and field delivery of a wide range of ground mounted assets on our electricity network that operates 24/7. Evoenergy provides the necessary equipment I need (such as a phone, IT equipment and a vehicle) enabling me to make key decisions on the safe operation of our network anytime and anywhere. More importantly I work with a great team of people that are flexible and work with me to provide assistance at times where I may be unavailable.
In 16 years at Evoenergy and its predecessor ActewAGL, I have had multiple different arrangements in place to suit the changing needs of my work and personal circumstances. The continued support I receive to enable me to continue to develop my career while balancing my personal life at Evoenergy is truly magnificent and enviable to many of my friends and family.
