15 Jan 2026
We have submitted our revised five-year gas plan for the period commencing 1 July 2026 to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).
Our revised five-year gas plan reflects our community’s expectations for a fair and equitable electrification transition, recognising that not everyone can transition at the same pace. It aims to:
- Share costs more equitably across customers
- Provide a more stable long-term price path
- Take action now to avoid disproportionate impacts on customers least able to transition early
This plan supports a responsible, steady and equitable path through the electrification transition to support the ACT Government’s emissions reduction objectives. It also ensures Evoenergy can recover efficient costs and maintain investment in the gas network, enabling us to deliver safe, reliable and efficient service for the communities we serve. Our revised plan responds to the AER’s draft decision, which we are concerned does not align with the regulatory framework.
What this means for customers
If approved, our revised gas plan will result in average annual increases to the network portion of the overall gas bill (excluding inflation) each year during the 2026–31 period:
- $22 increase per year for small users using 7GJ per annum (e.g. apartments)
- $46 increase per year for typical households using 27GJ per annum
- $160 increase per year for small-medium businesses using 160 GJ per annum.
Our revised five-year gas plan submission documents are available on our gas network plan page. The AER will also publish these documents on its website in the coming weeks.
Have your say
The AER invites stakeholders to make a submission on its draft decision and our revised plan by Friday 13 February 2026. Submissions can be emailed to aergasresets2026-31@aer.gov.au. The AER is expected to make a final decision on our gas plan by 15 May 2026.
