Evoenergy Electrical Fitter Tessa Valter was awarded ACT Apprentice of the Year at the 2023 ACT Training Awards on Thursday 14 September. From everyone at Evoenergy, we would like to congratulate Tessa for this outstanding achievement.

The ACT Training Awards are organised by the ACT Government and recognise Canberra’s vocational education and training (VET) sector and celebrates outstanding apprentices, trainees, VET students, teachers, employers, and training.

The ACT Apprentice of the Year Award is presented to an individual who has been outstanding in all aspects of their training. Under the award criteria, Tessa has been recognised for her career and study achievements, team and communication skills, and ability to be an ambassador.

Tessa started her apprenticeship with Evoenergy in 2019 and graduated at the end of last year. Since finishing her apprenticeship she’s become a permanent Electrical Fitter in our Network Services Group.

Tessa completed a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrical with Global Energy Training Solutions and is also a mentor to newer apprentices. She’s also an advocate for more women to undertake trades training and apply for trades roles.

Tessa and her fellow ACT winners will progress to represent the ACT at the Australian Training Awards at the end of the year.

Applications for Evoenergy’s 2024 Apprenticeship Program will open soon and we encourage everyone interested in a trades career to keep an eye out.
