Electricity emergency

Gas emergency

Our draft plan for the gas network sets out our forecast operating costs and capital expenditure, as well as our forecast gas connections and usage for 2021–26. Based on these forecasts, we have calculated how much revenue we expect we’ll require each year over the next five year period.

Central to our development of the draft plan is consideration of the ACT Government's climate change strategy, the legislated target of zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2045, and what the community want and need from the gas network as we transition to meet this target.

Stable network charges

Over the 2021–26 period we expect the revenue we require to cover our costs to be lower than the current period. We also expect that average gas usage per customer will decline, which combined with our lower revenue, would result in stable network charges (in real dollar terms).
