Dickson is a great place to test how technology like small-scale batteries can be integrated into a more densely populated suburb - with homes, apartments and businesses.
The Dickson neighbourhood battery will be installed near the existing substation opposite the Common Ground Complex on Hawdon Place next to the Dickson Oval.
Installation is expected to start in the middle of the year and be fully installed and operational before the end of 2025.
The physical installation of the battery is expected to take 3-6 weeks. This involves foundation work and cabling from the battery to the existing substation. After installation, the site will then be returned to its existing, or better, condition.
